Europe is undergoing a pivotal transformation. With the EU’s climate targets to reduce net emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and achieve full climate neutrality by 2050, the transition to renewable energy and fossil-free transportation is inevitable. To meet these goals, Sweden is banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, while Stockholm is already establishing zero-emission zones in the city center by 2025.
At the same time, regulations for parking spaces are becoming stricter. Starting January 1, 2025, all parking lots with more than 20 spaces must have at least one charging point for electric vehicles under the new rules. From 2027, additional requirements will come into effect, mandating that at least half of all parking spaces be equipped with empty conduits for charging infrastructure, simplifying the installation of future charging points.
