Our mission at Smartports is to revolutionize the way energy is produced and used in parking areas.
Through innovative and sustainable solutions, we create smart energy systems that combine solar cells, electric car charging and battery storage.
By offering products that are both energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing, we optimize parking areas that reduce their climate impact and at the same time create long-term values.
We combine engineering with design and sustainability, to give property owners an opportunity to contribute to climate change without sacrificing visual expression. 1. The idea is born in the forest
June 2023
During a run in nature, the idea is born: why build solar parks on virgin land, when there are already unused areas in every city?
2. The first sketches take shape
October 2023
The first drawings of a new type of energy-producing carport are emerging – with a focus on aesthetics, function and sustainability.
3. Smartports are established
November 2023
Julian Lundberg and Per Hjaldahl start Smartports AB with the vision of converting parking areas into energy hubs.
4. Patented construction is secured
May 2024
Smartports is applying for design protection and patents for its unique design with hidden cabling and minimal impact on the ground.
5. First products are trial launched – Pac
May 2024
Pac and Cap, Smartport’s flexible carport solution, get their names. The design is finalized and tested in 3D models and prototypes.
6. First sale is made
June 2024
The first customer signs – a clear receipt that the market is ready.
7. Start of construction of Pac14 in Årjängs GK
November 2024
Smartports begins its first installation. A Pac14 with space for fourteen cars and integrated charging is being built in the golf club’s parking lot.
8. First international interest confirmed
December 2024
Inquiries from actors in France, England, Germany and more mark the start of Smartport’s international journey.
9. Smartports are established in France
April 2025
Smartports SAS is launched and begins its first customer contacts.
10. The first project is inaugurated
May 2025
The first project was inaugurated with pomp and circumstance.
