Smartports is not just a carport. It is a new category of energy infrastructure. A system that combines solar cells, battery storage and electric car charging in an elegant, fully integrated form. Instead of requiring new land or expensive installations, Smartport utilizes areas we already have, parking lots.

It is a solution that gives property owners, municipalities and companies the opportunity to produce their own electricity, reduce the load on the electricity grid and meet the growing demand for charging. All this in a format that is both architecturally appealing and technically thought out down to the smallest detail.

The solar panels in the Smartports are not optional. They are a fundamental part of the construction, part of the architecture itself. We use high-efficiency panels that work efficiently even in varying light conditions, and are carefully positioned to maximize sunlight throughout the day.

Each site contains five solar panels with a peak output of 640 watts each. This gives an installed power of 3,200 watts per parking space. Depending on geographical location in Sweden, this can generate between 2,500 and 3,200 kilowatt hours per year. This roughly corresponds to the energy required to drive an electric car 1,500 to 1,800 miles, i.e. more than a full year of normal commuting for many users. That is enough to cover the annual mileage of an average electric car in Sweden directly from the sun, directly on site.

Unlike traditional solutions, the panels are fully integrated into the roof structure, which provides both aesthetic and functional advantages. It minimizes dirt build-up, simplifies cleaning and eliminates the need for unnecessary fixtures or frameworks. The result is a uniform expression and consistent energy production all year round.
